Fired for Winning

I don’t have much detail, but ESPN is reporting Sheldon Brown is asking to be traded.

There have long been rumblings that Brown has been unhappy with his current contract, especially in light of the huge deal the Eagles signed Asante Samuel to last season. Couple that with the trade of Brown’s buddy and fellow malcontent Lito Sheppard and this report is surprising.

Brown is signed through 2012 and is due $2 million in 2009.

Update: Per a source Brown feels disrespected because the Eagles refuse to even open up negotiations on a new deal.
